Problem statement
Our goal was to create calculators to calculate how much students and parents would borrow, and monthly payments will be as well as the total amount paid on those loans.
The process
Our first step as a class was to try to get a better understanding of how loans work with some class activities. We worked on examples on how we could calculate what the student would pay and what the parents would pay using the spreadsheets and making our own calculators. We had to figure out how to use functions, and how to apply them to what we information we were trying to get out of the calculator.

During part 2 of this project, I found it pretty difficult. What was most difficult for me was figuring out how to use the calculator. I felt that I had a good understanding of what was supposed go into the calculator but not how to set it up correctly. We weren't exactly taught how to set up the calculator but I believe that was for a purpose. I had to reach out to my peers to see if they could help me understand how to create the calculator on google spreadsheets. It seemed like a majority of my class had a hard time to, so in a sense, I was glad it wasn't only me. I finally reached out to the wonderful Anna Cueva, and she took time to explain to me how everything worked and it was so helpful. I would give myself a B for this part because I struggled for the majority of this part. I didn't feel up to speed the whole time, until I asked Anna.
