http://californiainnocenceproject.org/ | The California Innocence Project explains themselves as a law school clinical program dedicated to releasing wrongfully convicted inmates and providing an outstanding educational experience to the students enrolled in the clinic. Law students work alongside CIP staff attorneys on cases where there is strong evidence of factual innocence. |

Us the students of TEAM RUN DMC are given the chance to take some of the REAL cases and thoroughly look though all the facts and create a recommend a course of action based on the information and evidence in the case file, that we later presented to the lawyers of the CIP .
I don't even know where to begin. This project is unlike anything I have EVER done in the past. Well I've never done anything at this scale.I think this opportunity is absolutely amazing for us a students to experience a little of what this organization goes through. Also I believe this is our time to prove ourselves. Yes, we are juniors but I think we are capable of so much more that expected.
My partners are Todd, Gabriel, and Carolina. Us four made a great group. I believe we all distributed out the work evenly.
Our case is pretty easy to follow. I'm very proud of the work we produced. We revised our presentation several times until it was clean, professional, and solid. I was happy with our recommended course of action and I believe it was very well thought out and we knew exactly what we were talking about.

All about the case memo
We were actually excited about our case file. Our case file was unique to most of the files. It was hard to not have assumptions when reading our clients side of the story. What we based our argument around was the AOB. All of the cold hard facts of the case was in that document. Every time we read over the AOB we learned something else about our client and his involvement with the case, which was a struggle for us. We were constantly revising our presentation and case memo and it was difficult deciding where we wanted to go with the recommended course of action. It's not easy dealing with the fact that this person's future rests on your shoulders.
Exhibition
To be very honest I really do believe our group did great. I was very proud of the quality of work that we presented. The CIP lawyer agreed with our recommended course of action and that couldn't have made me any more happy. One thing I was kinda bummed about was that our lawyer didn't ask very many questions. I was prepared to show what we got. That could be a good thing though because I felt like we were very clear with our evidence. I would definitely say we did like a 4 out of 4. I don't think it could have gone any better. Same for my individual performance. I don't feel like I sailed through this project. It was difficult in the best way possible and I learned so much from this experience. I would do this project again any day.
