POL PREPARATION part 1:
High tech has probably taught me on of the most important skills when it comes to being in the business world. I feel like I have a good grasp on how to be professional in my work space. That skill of course came into play when I went to Digital Gym. I loved how I could still be my self though. I didn't have to worry too much about how professional I was being. It was just natural. It was a comfortable environment for me to come out of my shell a little bit. I always say that I wan't to be an outgoing person. I feel that my experience at this internship gave me one huge step towards that goal.
The whole process of searching for an internship, to contacting them, then going into interview. It has all been extremely helpful. I feel confident in my ability to find a summer job because of this whole experience.
I am hoping I was a big help to the Media Arts Center. I did many different jobs during my time here. One of my tasks was to look through their YouTube channel and find videos that I could enter into a film festival. When I was looking through the videos, I came across one named "What is Beauty" and it sparked my idea for my video. Our goal was to make a short film about a social justice topic. That is when I decided to make my video about: How media portrays beauty and how it affects young girls self confidence. I thought what a a better way to display my thoughts about this topic than to create a spoken word. I love watching spoken word. It took me about a full week to finish my poem, and be happy with it. I also got a lot of help from my peers. We just filmed it and I am excited to see how it will turn out after editing!
